Good Companions
This Darby and Joan club was started in the 1940s by Marie de Garis and Doreen Langlois. The name was changed to the GVS Good Companions at the suggestion of a 98 year old member who said that the previous name made her feel old. Following a change of venue, the name is now Western Good Companions. They meet at the Sylvans Sports Club St Peters twice a month on a Tuesday from 2.00pm to 4.00pm. Volunteers organise activities and provide refreshments.

Alderney Darby & Joan
GVS runs a Darby & Joan Club once a month which gives members a chance to catch up with friends. At most of the meetings there is a speaker, sometimes a quiz or Bingo. The meetings are on the 1st Tuesday of the month at 6.30 at the Butes Centre- but no meetings in January and August. In March there is a lunch, in July a garden party, and Fish & Chips in September.
