Russels Social Club
The Russels Social Club at Le Grand Courtil, St. Martin is open from 9.30 am to 3.00 pm Tuesdays to Fridays. We have a team of volunteers on each day who run the social club for that day, broadly along the same lines as at Jubilee. Some volunteers help bring clients into the social club and then stay to help for the morning or the whole day. Generally volunteer help is required in the following areas at various times during the day to suit volunteers:-
We have various volunteer roles at Russels including:-
Morning meeting and greeting the clients and getting them settled. From 9.00 am running a trolley shop for cards and confectionery, generally assisting at the social club. Approximately 9.30 am to noon.
Helping to serve lunch 11.45 am to 1 pm
Generally assisting at the social club and helping to tidy up at the end of the day 1pm to 3.15
Afternoon tea helpers (always two people on duty). Serve tea and cakes and wash up afterwards (dishwasher available). Generally assisting members before they go home at approximately 3.00 pm. Approximately 1.30 pm / 2 pm to 3.15 pm
Hairdressing - we have a hair dressing facility where members can have their hair done between approximately 10 am and 12 noon or after lunch. Hairdressing qualifications are not necessarily needed – some ladies just want their hair washed and set. Days and times to suit.
Painting nails/hand massage days and times to suit.
